Mascarade

Description

Mascarade is an European project - co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union - blending art, research, and social action. It brings together young people, artists, educators, and professionals from across Europe to explore the transformative power of the mask — a tool for expression, freedom, and connection. About Mascarade Mascarade is a 27-month European project - co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union - blending art, research, and social action. It brings together young people, artists, educators, and professionals from across Europe to explore the transformative power of the mask — a tool for expression, freedom, and connection. When we wear a mask, we become something else. We give space to what we hide, what we dream, what we do not yet know. The mask becomes a playground. A shield. A mirror. A tool for liberation, expression, and resistance. In a Europe marked by identity debates, Mascarade uses theatre, masked performance, and digital creation to explore identity, otherness, inclusion, and democratic participation.

Aim

Mascarade explores masks and theatre as tools for social inclusion, participation, non-formal education, and intercultural dialogue. Through participatory research, experimental workshops, an innovative methodology, and audiovisual creations, Mascarade empowers young people to explore their European and individual identities, experience otherness, and enhance their confidence.
